Okay, let’s get this out of the way, first: I’m a fan of the Dave Matthews Band. Love their stuff. The way the band meshes at their best, the visual imagery evoked by their music, their provocative music videos… just awesome. But even I think that they kinda go overboard with their live albums. I mean, I’ve got five different versions of “Ants Marching”. And they’re really not all that different from one to the next (including, ironically, the one I have of them playing with Phish)!
Although, I gotta say, if the live stuff is the consolation for waiting so long between full-blown albums that are just plain awesome, then I think I can accept it.
