Friends of mine were featured in this story from a local news station. It’s incredibly disappointing, but it also seems somewhat appropriate that an outmoded and outdated form of news reporting like a newspaper would be stuck with an outmoded and outdated form of thinking as well.
Allowing homosexuals to get the same benefits and special privileges that married heterosexual couples get is a no-brainer to me. The only way I see that this would harm heterosexual marriages is if an enlightened individual happens to be yoked to a neanderthal who believes otherwise. I greatly enjoy hearing people like Newt Gingrich and Donald Trump arguing against marriage equality on the basis of morals and the sanctity of marriage. Really, guys? That’s the position you’re gonna take?
