We used to make up so many games as kids combining multiple board games, characters, etc. mainly because we lost pieces of each of them so we had to find new ways to make them work. I'm surprised that at some point someone didn't yell out "Yahtzee! You just sank my Hungry Hungry Hippo". :)

I have a few people who repeatedly show up on every social media asking me for friend requests that I deny. They are generally people who know me through various bands, but I don't know. They have followed me from MySpace to Google Plus and even Linked IN! I don't get it. What part of denied don't you understand?

I've been there as well Jeff. We lost an entire year of our kid's Birthday's, T-Ball, etc. cause my computer crashed, and revealed that the backup external HDD had failed as well. Once a year I back everything up to DVD's and put them in the fireproof safe, so when this occurred in July of Last year I was devastated, cause from Jan to July was just gone. Fortunately the grandparents had taken plenty of pictures of Birthday's, and sporting events; but it didn't replace the miscellaneous ones we had. I now backup my backup every quarter. If I can ever get decent internet I'll move to Mozy and keep my backups online as a redundancy.

I imagine there's a special wing of the Betty Ford clinic for compulsive vowel-buyers. Any time they find they have a spare $250 in their bank account, they head to New York, where a large black market in letters got set up around 40 years ago. At the clinic, you can hear the ones going through severe withdrawal still calling out for directions in their delirious fever-dreams...

"Can you tell me...how to get...to Sesame Street?"

It's sad, really.

I often wondered if someone ever spent all their money buying vowels, you know it's gonna happen some day.

Speaking of vowels, let me play devils advocate for a moment. Being from the old school "Y" is sometimes a vowel, but yet it does not get recognized as such. You never hear someone say "Let me buy a vowel. 'Y'". I wonder why? (Pun intended)

Gonzo and Animal were always my two favorite Muppets. The scene they talk about in today's strip is one of the many that concreted me into a love for the Muppets again as an adult. I remember watching the Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, Muppets take Broadway and all of the original Muppet Shows growing up and absolutely loving them but not having an emotional link to them like I do now as an adult. Up until 5 or so years ago I actually still had several of the Burger King Muppet Caper glasses. We moved and I believe my mother took them, and now she can't account for them which is a major bummer.

I remember revisiting the muppets again as an adult and just absolutely falling in love with them all over again. As a kid my brothers and I had Muppet puppets. We had Gonzo of course, Animal, Kermit, Fozzy and Rowlf. Once again, one of those things I wish I would have held onto.

My wife and I are so excited at the chance to take our boys to see the Muppets this Christmas on the Big Screen. I can't wait.
