This strip is indeed borne out of personal experience. Generally speaking, if you want to pass a class, you should show up for more than 3 sessions out of the entire academic period. Just sayin’, really.

So, just how far should a prof bend backwards for a student, anyway? Any thoughts?

Like my diminutive alter-ego up there, I began a teaching job today–although my subjects are nowhere near Poli-Sci, nor am I relegated to standing on top of a podium in order to be seen and heard. Nor are my classes really lecture-heavy. Nor do I have any classes in anything closely resembling a lecture hall. Nor do I have any sort of furniture polish policy. Nor do I wear reading glasses.

Guess my job’s not really much like Zoid’s, huh?

On a different note, I once had a teacher who was somewhat shorter than 5 feet tall. Once in a while, he would pull out a trampoline to pull down the projector screen at the front of the room. I am totally not making that up; it was awesome.

Now, to be fair, I became a coffee drinker myself shortly after I married The Eponymous Neaner (13 years ago from this date!), so I’ve been firmly set on both sides of this situation. I’ve seen the terrible, terrible things that over-caffeination does to people…and experienced them anyway.

Where do you stand on the coffee sitch? Drinker? Non-drinker? Maxwell House? Starbucks? Or do you prefer to eschew all those for a hand-ground espresso using a mortar and pestle, with a precisely set temperature of water and a hand-sewn reusable filter? Or are you a tea person?
